WalkSmart website
A bilingual German and English WordPress website for WalkSmart, a Nepal trekking company, sharing Ferien Travel's custom theme with its own branding.
Challenge
WalkSmart is a second brand from the owner of Ferien Travel, offering tours, treks and activities in Nepal and its neighbours, again for German- and English-speaking travellers.
The trip structure that worked for Ferien Travel suited WalkSmart too. What needed to change was the identity: WalkSmart had to look and feel like its own brand.
Solution
I reused the custom Ferien Travel theme and gave it a separate brand layer.
- New identity: the WalkSmart logo, a blue and red colour palette and different typography, applied across the header, buttons, headings and footer.
- The same proven structure: trip templates with overview, highlights and day-by-day itinerary, and browsing by trip type and by destination.
- German and English versions of every page with the language switch in the header.
- A separate WordPress install and domain, so each brand manages its own content, while the theme code stays shared.
Result
- A second brand on a proven base: tours, treks, activities and destination pages for Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India, in German and English.
- Two clearly different brands from one theme, side by side: compare the Ferien Travel and WalkSmart homepages.
- One theme behind both: fixes and improvements to the shared templates can be applied to both sites.
- A stable layout: no layout shift as pages load (CLS 0 on mobile in Lighthouse).
